Filipinos are known for having close-knit family ties, we cherish our relationships with our family members and love spending time together. This is because traditionally, Filipinos believe that families should be together and help each other no matter what.
One of the relationships that Filipinos treasure above all is their relationship with their grandparents. Traditionally, the elderly are being treated with love and respect because lolos and lolas play a huge role in raising their grandchildren. Actor Xian Lim can attest to this kind of relationship with their grandparents. Just recently, Xian fulfilled his lola’s wish before she underwent chemotherapy for breast cancer.
On Instagram, Xian shared a glimpse of the room he arranged for his grandmother. According to the actor, the room was built to store his grandma’s lovely clown collection. (Read: Do you cherish your grandparents enough?)
“Wish granted for my lola,” he wrote in the caption. “Before we brought her to the hospital, I asked her what she wanted para mapabilis ang balik ng lakas niya and she told me that she wanted to see her clown collection in one place.”

In the photo, Xian can be seen smiling with his grandmother in front of the glass cabinets filled with clown figures. The actor also said that his lola was “thrilled and excited” to see her collection on display and that he is ready to grant her next wish! “My lola’s next wishlist for me is to frame all her cross-stitch…. All 150+ works that accumulated through the years! Mukhang kakayanin naman,” Xian said.
It was on August 24 when Xian first shared that his lola was diagnosed with breast cancer. His 87-year-old grandmother since then underwent a mastectomy, a procedure to remove one of her breasts, as part of her fight against cancer. “She is now recovering and we’re waiting for the doctors to give a go signal for her chemotherapy,” he said.
