5 Reasons Why We Love Sip & Gogh

Heads up, art and wine lovers near or along Congressional Avenue, Quezon City: Sip & Gogh, the unique paint-and-sip studio that combines making art with consuming glasses wine and snacks, is opening a branch in your area soon!

Launched in 2012 by a group of longtime friends bonding over a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon one rainy evening, Sip & Gogh now has branches in Ayala Heights, Eastwood, Kapitolyo, Alabang, Atelier, Century Mall, The Podium, and the upcoming Congressional Avenue. It has also found fans in people of all ages and backgrounds—from 7-year-old kids to couples on a date, gal pals, and entire families—looking for something fun and different to do.

“This place is an absolute gem!” wrote Reynabriggs on Trip Advisor. “The friendly and open atmosphere and wine can persuade even the shyest person to unleash their inner artist. We have enjoyed the provided snacks and the guidance from the resident artists. It has been tremendous fun to unwind and just paint with friends.”

“The instructors are really good. Even a stick-only-drawing person like me was mesmerized by what I was able to paint,” said ladylazaruz22.

Want to give it a try? Here are a few things to know:

They pay homage to Vincent van Gogh.

All fans of the Dutch post-impressionist, the owners not only love his richly colored and earnest interpretations of landscapes, still life, and self-portraits, they are inspired by encouraging statements like this: “If you hear a voice within you that says you cannot paint, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.”

First-time painters are welcome.

You don’t have to have painting experience to sign up for a session. In-house instructors, all fine arts graduates, will be more than happy to guide you through the process of sketching a rough draft of your painting, choosing colors, and applying brush strokes. Everybody gets to take home their artwork at the end of the workshop.

Guests also get to create wearable art.

Sip & Gogh also has services that allow you to paint on eco-friendly and reusable canvas bags. They make a neat personalized gift for someone—or a cool accessory for you, too! The bags are available for a limited time only, so book a session ASAP!

They serve drinks and snacks fit for the whole family.

Adults get a complimentary drink and snacks, while those 18 years old and below are served non-alcoholic beverages. Grownups can choose from wine, beer, or cocktails. (No hard drinks, folks!)

Got a favorite wine? Bring it to the session!

Sip & Gogh’s Bring-Your-Own-Bottle policy allows you to bring a maximum of two bottles of wine to the workshop. A corkage fee of P300 will be charged for each 750 ml bottle of wine.

Visit the Sip & Gogh website to schedule an appointment at a branch nearest you.
