“Fashion and innovation has always been at the heart of what we do at Vogue Singapore.
With the global September issue theme of ‘New Beginnings’, we took the bold step to
venture into the metaverse—the destination for a new class of digital artists and designers,” said Norman Tan, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Singapore.

He added that with the September issue, they hope to elevate storytelling and “welcome readers to embark on this digitally led journey to explore the creative possibilities.” With the Vogue NFTs, Tan said, the brand is looking forward to further expanding and exploring the intersection of fashion and technology.

The two digital-only covers of the this month’s issue are “Triumphant Awakening” and “The RenaiXance Rising”. The two artworks were designed by virtual world artist Chad Knight, in collaboration with Jamela Law and Lionel Wong of Baëlf Design, and digital fashion house The Fabricant (in collaboration with fashion photographer, Shavonne Wong), respectively.

‘The RenaiXance Rising’ is also a programmable NFT,  which means it changes posture and ambient lighting depending on the time of day the viewer looks at it! (Read: Rajo Laurel Says Kindness Is Never Out of Fashion, and We Love Him for It!)
