By voting not to renew the franchise of ABS-CBN, lawmakers thought that they have already silenced the broadcasting giant. However, ABS-CBN remains committed to public service and continues to serve the country through digital platforms.

“Even if the pandemic has been challenging, it has pushed us to think out of the box. And with the theaters still closed, we thought of ways to reach our audience in different ways,” said ABS-CBN Films managing director Olivia Lamasan.
As a matter of fact, ABS-CBN’s new target project is to bring newly produced local movies on digital, cable, and satellite TV. They partnered with different platforms such as iWantTFC, KTX.ph, SKYcable, and Cignal to bring six new films!
Upcoming ABS-CBN Films: U-Turn
If you are still in the Halloween mood, Star Cinema’s newest horror film, U-Turn, starring JM de Guzman, Tony Labrusca, and Kim Chiu is available on SKY Pay-Per-View until November 12. (Read: The Best Korean Dramas for Your Halloween Hangover)
In the film, Kim Chiu plays Donna Suarez, a struggling journalist who wants to be taken seriously in her career. The story unravels as her life takes a turn when her career takes on different unfortunate events that led to his twin brother’s death. She is then forced to investigate the incident, taking her boyfriend Robin (Tony Labrusca) and police officer Kevin (JM de Guzman) as they uncover more deaths.

Upcoming ABS-CBN Films: Four Sisters Before the Wedding
The much-awaited prequel to 2013 hit comedy-drama film Four Sisters and a Wedding will also be soon available for streaming.
The original film is undoubtedly one of the most iconic films of the 2010s, not only because of its plot but also because Star Cinema did a great job in casting the ABS-CBN’s top actresses as the Salazar sisters: Bea Alonzo as Bobbie, Angel Locsin as Alex, Toni Gonzaga as Teddie, and Shaina Magdayao as Gabbie. Former child superstar Zaijian Jaranilla will be playing the role of a gay teenager in the coming-of-age film Boyette (Not A Girl, Yet) by Direk Jumbo Albano. The movie, which also stars Maris Racal and Iñigo Pascual, will be released on KTX.ph, iWantTFC, SkyCable, and Cignal soon.

Kapamilyas are all in for a treat because Princess Dayareese with Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber, and Hello Stranger The Movie starring JC Alcantara and Tony Labrusca will also be soon released simultaneously in multi-platforms. The producers haven’t released any information yet, but fans can surely expect great outcomes from these wonderful films.
