Bea Alonzo and Angelica Panganiban are sure to make you tear up in new movie, ‘Unbreakable’

With the growing amount of people who choose to be single—or people who choose themselves first before romantic love—Unbreakable is a timely release from Star Cinema. It teaches moviegoers that, yes, romantic love is special and can bring us happiness, but friends are the ones who will give us an insurmountable amount of love and joy.

Unbreakable, starring Bea Alonzo, Angelica Panganiban, and Richard Gutierrez, is all about that: sisterhood and the promise to not let anything (or anyone) break it.

Non-Spoiler Gist

Mariel (Bea Alonzo) and Deena (Angelica Panganiban) are college best friends who promised each other that no one will break them apart, not even a man—girl code, as they say. However, their friendship is tested as they both grow into adulthood and marry the siblings Justin (Richard Gutierrez) and Bene (Ian Veneracion). The two women slowly realize that they’re losing touch with each other and that they aren’t college students anymore; they’re now adults who need to face their problems head on.

Relatable Cast

Unbreakable is a breath of fresh air for moviegoers and avid fans of the lead actors. Moving away from the typical tropes we’d often see in Filipino movies, the film presents an unusual plot that is so realistic and raw, anyone who’d see it might shed a tear or two.

With its star-studded cast, one would expect the film to be overwhelming. But it doesn’t turn out like that—in fact, Angelica, Bea, Ian, and Richard complemented each other and portrayed their respective characters in a relatable manner.

Holiday Feels

With its timely release a few days before Advent, Unbreakable will teach you that misunderstandings and conflicts can arise in any relationship we have—the important thing is how we seek reconciliation with those we love and value most. Just like Mariel and Deena, find the time and way to make peace with people no matter how big or small the conflict or arguments we had with them. After all, that’s what Christmas is all about: love and peace.
