Over the past few days, several social media posts have been circulating about a certain upcoming Netflix series. The posts were all applauding the marketing team of the new Netflix anime series Trese, which is based on the Filipino comic book of the same name.
The team’s marketing strategy was so ingenious, there hasn’t been any brand or show that has pulled it off before. We’re talking about billboards that had very realistic vandals on them along EDSA and other major highways, and eerily believable CCTV “footage”! It is definitely an eye-catcher that makes us even more excited for the series premiere. (Read: ‘Trese’ Posters and Billboard Get Vandalized, Netizens React)
But it isn’t just strategic marketing that the team behind Trese planned for its premiere. On June 10, the “Not ALive Concert” will be happening— leading to the premiere of the series on Netflix!
‘Not ALive Concert’
The concert’s title is a wordplay on “not alive” and “not a live” since we’re all doing virtual concerts due to the pandemic, and the main story of Trese revolves around the myths and supernatural stories in the Philippines. (Read: 3 Interesting Facts About ‘Trese’ Creator, Budjette Tan)
Not ALive Concert will be headlined by UDD (formerly Up Dharma Down) and will consist of a ‘ghost audience.’ The ghost audience are UDD and Trese fans who submitted videos of themselves using a certain filter specially made for the event.
Everyone can watch the Not ALive Concert on Netflix’s Facebook Page on June 10, Thursday, just before midnight. UDD’s song, “Paagi,” is also the official soundtrack of the anime series! (Read: 6 New Movies Coming to Netflix This June)
Liza Soberano will be voicing Alexandra Trese for the Filipino version, while Shay Mitchell will be voicing her for the English version. Trese comes out on Netflix on June 11.
