The world’s tallest statue of Mama Mary will soon be inaugurated at the Montemaria pilgrimage site in Batangas City. The monument, known as “Mother of All Asia” or simply the “Tower of Peace,” stands at 315 feet.
According to the Montemaria website, they intend to hold the inauguration alongside the celebrations for 500 years of Christianity in the Philippines. However, the official date for the ceremony is yet to be announced due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions.
As of writing, the Montemaria pilgrimage site remains closed from the public. (Read: 4 Beautiful Shrines in the PH Dedicated to Mama Mary)

Its name, “Mother of All Asia,” was sourced from Pope Benedict XVI’s prayer in 2017, titled “To Our Lady of Sheshan, Mother of The Church in China and All Asia.” This is to directly capture the message that the statue represents — unity and peace of all peoples and countries in South Asia.
World’s First Livable Statue
With a floor area of around 130,000 square feet, the monument is reportedly the first-ever livable statue in the world. (Read: Catholics Place Statue of Mary on War-Damaged Church in Iraq)
It houses a St. John Paul II shrine, 12 Marian chapels, a food hall, mini-theaters, and conference rooms. The structure also includes commercial and residential spaces.
Once opened to the public, the pilgrimage site will offer its visitors access to an observation deck in the crown of the statue. It can be reached by elevator or a staircase of more than 400 steps.
The crown is adorned with 12 stars to represent the 12 apostles of Christ. Similarly, the structure was built upon 12 foundations, to represent the tribes of Israel.
