Foodie Special: The Best Restaurants in St. Pega’s Road, UK

On the Feast Day of St. Pega, we take you on a virtual tour of one of the UK's top food destinations!

All around the world, there are many roads, cities, and islands that are named after famous individuals. There’s Saint Lucia, an island in the Carribean Sea dedicated to its namesake; Bolivia, named after the Venezuelan military leader Simon Bolivar; and thousands more of places named after personalities that were and are still known across the world.

The Philippines is no stranger to this as well— having been named after King Philipp of Spain, our country’s ancestors have given names to places around the country that are odes to famous people. Perhaps every country has done this — even the United Kingdom. In fact, there is a road in the UK named after a saint!

St. Pega’s Road

St. Pega’s Road is a relatively short road in Peterborough, UK, which is a cathedral city. We say short because it is approximated that St. Pega’s Road is only 1,130 meters (1.13 kilometers) long! The small area is known for its handful of restaurants and establishments that serve delicious food that makes everyone come back for more. They make their dishes fresh every day and they are not prudent in their ingredients— which means you’ll get your money’s worth! According to diners, the presentation of the food is also superb.
