Taylor Swift’s ‘From the Vault’ Songs Will Give You Major Feels

The never-before-heard songs were released together with 'Fearless (Taylor's Version)!'

On April 9, 11-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift made headlines after she released her re-recorded album, Fearless (Taylor’s Version). But this time around, the album was released under Republic Records instead of Big Machine Records, after a series of disputes with regards to the selling of Taylor’s songs by Scooter Braun.

Swifties around the world were all too excited for the release, not only because Taylor finally owns all her songs, but because they get to reminisce the good old days from 2008. Plus, everyone knows that Taylor is never without surprises. (Exclusive: Bey Talks ‘Crash Landing,’ Music Inspirations, and More!)

For Fearless (Taylor’s Version), there are additional six new songs that didn’t make the cut 13 years ago. Fans were in awe after listening to the songs called “From the Vault,” and had nothing but praises for the 31-year-old singer. Watch their lyric videos below!

From the Vault: Mr. Perfectly Fine

An up-tempo song, “Mr. Perfectly Fine” is said to be another song about singer Joe Jonas, whom Taylor dated back in the day. The two didn’t have the smoothest breakup since it can be recalled that Joe called it quits through a phone call only. But despite the rumors about the song, Joe’s wife, actress Sophie Turner, loves the song and even posted to her Instagram calling it a ‘bop.’

From the Vault: You All Over Me

The song features singer and record producer Maren Morris, who had also been featured in other singers’ songs such as Niall Horan’s “Seeing Blind” and Zedd and Grey’s “The Middle.” (Read: 3 New Songs by Pinoy Artists That You Need to Hear Right Now)

“You All Over Me” is surprisingly parallel to the title track of the album, which can be seen through the first few lines of each song! It talks about a girl reminiscing a past relationship, likely the one talked about in Fearless.

From the Vault: We Were Happy

“We Were Happy” talks about a certain significant other and his “daddy’s farm” which she wanted to buy. This is the most country song among the six new songs— definitely an ode to 2008 Taylor! (Read: Here’s Where You’ve Seen Olivia Rodrigo Before ‘Driver’s License’ Went Viral)

From the Vault: Don’t You

This is another one of the songs that seem to be about Joe. If you can remember, shortly after their break up, Joe started dating actress Camilla Belle. “I heard she’s nothin’ like me, I’m sure she’ll make you happy,” the lyrics say.

“Better than Revenge” from Taylor’s 2010 Speak Now album is also said to be about Camilla Belle. (Read: 3 Good Reasons to Listen to ‘Spider’ by Seventeen Hoshi)

From the Vault: That’s When

“That’s When” is one of the ~sadder~ songs in Fearless (Taylor’s Version), as it’s about a love that was lost but found again. Think “Back To December,” but a happier ending. The song features country icon Keith Urban, whom Taylor opened for in 2008.

From the Vault: Bye Bye Baby

This song was previously known as “The One Thing,” which was leaked a few years back but never officially released. Taylor just tweaked the lyrics to fit “Bye Bye Baby” for the release of Fearless (Taylor’s Version).

“Bye Bye Baby” is the 26th and last song on the re-recorded album, and fans speculate that it’s Taylor’s way of closing the ‘Fearless’ chapter.
