Prayers Of The Vatican In Difficult Times

Experience God’s love and tenderness with these prayers courtesy of the Vatican!

In light of the ongoing lockdowns and quarantines imposed worldwide due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Pope Francis has extended his prayers and sentiments to everyone affected by the crisis. To help the world keep the faith, Lolo Kiko and the Vatican released a downloadable prayer book that contains some of Pope Francis’ homilies and prayers.

The prayer book, entitled “Strong in the Face of Tribulation: The Church in Communion—a Sure Support in Time of Trial,” features three sections: Prayers from the Church’s tradition, Pastoral indications, and the Pope’s words. These are all available in English, French, Spanish, and Italian languages—all thanks to the Vatican’s Dicastery for Communication.

Let us all experience God’s love and tenderness in these times of pain, suffering, and solitude with these two prayers from the Vatican prayer book:

Extraordinary Moment of Prayer Before Saint Peter’s Basilica

Almighty and merciful God, behold our sorrowful condition: comfort your children and open our hearts to hope, so that we might feel your Fatherly presence in our midst. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, Who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Amen.

Prayer for Liberation from the Epidemic to Our Lady of Divine Love

O Mary, You shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who, at the cross, united with Jesus’ pain, keeping your faith firm. You, Salvation of the Roman people, know what we need, and we trust that you will provide for those needs so that, as at Cana of Galilee, joy and celebration may return after this moment of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the will of the Father and to do what Jesus tells us. He who took our sufferings upon Himself and burdened Himself with our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of Resurrection.

Amen.
