Every July, the Philippines celebrates National Nutrition Month. It’s a month full of campaigns, videos, images, and events (pre-pandemic) that promote good nutrition and healthy eating. And back in the day, it would be the months when “Makulay ang buhay sa sinabawang gulay,” and iterations of it would be sung by kids, or written into posters for the seemingly never-ending poster making contests in school.
And now more than ever, the message of Nutrition Month resounds–nutrition and health should always be prioritized. With the pandemic still around, it is high time we rethink what and how we eat (and monitor what we do!), and start putting our health above everything else! With this, My Pope Philippines shares a prayer for good health. While it is mostly a physical and mortal thing to keep our bodies strong, it wouldn’t hurt to pray for a strong mind and body, along with protection from the novel coronavirus and other illnesses.
Prayer for a Healthy Body
You are my Strength,
and all power belongs to You.
I pray for a strong and vigorous body that can easily do hard work,
engage in exercise,
and has a strong resistance against illness.
I thank You that as I trust in You,
I find new strength, and soar high like an eagle.
I will run and not get weary,
I will walk and not faint.
I thank You that I am Your creation,
and You watch over me.
