Shifting to a plant-based diet? Try these alternatives to make your meals taste *almost* the same!

Many of us are trying to be more healthy, especially now that there is a pandemic affecting the world. And with this, many are trying to switch to a plant-based diet, or just eat more plant-based food.

But of course, many are wondering if their favorite meals will taste the same if they use different ingredients. Luckily, there are actually plant-based items you can buy and use as substitute for meat and dairy products! These ingredients are healthy and won’t drastically alter the taste of your meals.

Jackfruit, better known as langka, can be used as a substitute for shredded meat, specifically chicken. It can also be used as an alternative to shredded tuna. Try out this pulled jackfruit recipe!

Many are now choosing to use non-dairy milk substitutes such as oat, soy, or hazelnut milk. Most kinds of non-dairy milk are already available in groceries and supermarkets, but you can also make your own by soaking raw nuts in water and straining it after a while. It is to note that certain milk substitutes are better than others for specific recipes. Try making your regular french toast with oat milk with this recipe!
