WATCH: The Official Lyric Video for ‘500 Years of Christianity’ Song

“Live Christ, Share Christ,” is the official celebration song for the quincentenary of Philippine Christianity.

The Philippine Catholic Church has finally launched the lyric video of “Live Christ, Share Christ” — the official celebration song for the 500th anniversary of Christianity in the country.

On Saturday, April 3, the faithful were treated with the release of the song’s official lyric video on the Facebook and YouTube accounts of 500 Years of Christianity (500 YOC) in the Philippines. ‘Live Christ, Share Christ’

Ever since its first release in 2013, “Live Christ, Share Christ” has had several revival versions by numerous Filipino artists. Among them are Angeline Quinto, Erik Santos, Liezel Garcia, Janine Berdin, Bituin Escalante, Jed Madela, Jolina Magdangal, Matt Lozano, and Arman Ferrer, with arrangement by Marvin Querido.

The song features music by National Artist Ryan Cayabyab and lyrics by Archbishop Socrates Vilegas. It is produced by the bishops’ Episcopal Commission on Social Communications with the Jesuit Communications and Montemaria Asia Pilgrims, Inc as part of the Catholic Church’s nine-year spiritual journey leading up to this year’s quincentennial celebrations.

Jubilee Year Celebrations

On Sunday, April 4, Catholic dioceses and parishes across the Philippines officially launched the start of the 500th anniversary of Christianity in the country. The event will be a year-long celebration that will culminate in Cebu in April 2022. (Read: NHCP Confirms First Easter Sunday Mass Held in Limasawa Island)

On April 14, the 500th year commemoration of the first baptism in the Philippines will be held in Cebu City. The celebration features a reenactment of the first baptism, a Mass and renewal of baptismal promises, and baptism of 10 children.
