All children are unique and they all have untapped gifts that need nurturing and support from parents and elders. In fact, even Pope Francis believes that the presence of the elderly and children in the world means that God is present and there is a promise of future. He adds that the young and the elderly ensure the “survival of a country and the Church.”
This is exactly what indoor entertainment center KidZania Manila and Promil Four had in mind when they launched the Talent Development Center inside KidZania.
Spot the Gift Test
Promil Four’s Talent Development Center is an addition to the activity areas inside “KidZania City.” It contains a set of screens where parents can take the Spot the Gift Test—a personality-based test that helps parents determine their children’s inclination. It was created by Multiple Intelligences expert Dr. Thomas Armstrong and validated by Dr. Leticia Peñano-Ho, President of the Philippine Center for Gifted Education.
There are eight inclinations that would show up in the results—music, bodily-kinesthetic, spatial relations, naturalist, interpersonal, intrapersonal, linguistic, and logical-mathematical abilities. The parents and their kids may consult talent officers after each result to help shape the experience of the kids in KidZania.
A Determined Generation
Mr. Ikey Canoy, Talent Manager at KidZania, says that children have entire universes inside them, and they want to unlock these universes. He adds that through Promil Four’s Talent Development Center, children can make better sense of what makes them unique; they are given the opportunity to do things that are in line with what they are inclined to.
“You can’t change the world overnight, but can you imagine a world with kids who know what they want to be, what they want to achieve? Imagine a new generation of Greta Thunbergs or Malala Yousafzais,” Canoy says.
Families can visit the Talent Development Center at KidZania Manila on Tuesdays to Fridays (9am to 4pm) or on weekends (10am to 5pm).
