Mark Your Calendars – These Netflix Sequels Are Coming Soon!

We can't wait to watch the sequels of these great shows and films!

When we get to watch a good movie or series, we always wish that it wouldn’t end, or that we could get a follow-up to it. That is why we call ourselves lucky and get the kilig feeling when producers announce a sequel to the show!

This year, Netflix fans will get to experience that feeling again. A couple of films and series on the streaming platform have already announced that they will be filming— or even already releasing— a sequel soon! (Read: 4 Netflix Shows That Will Inspire You to Live Your Best Life)

My Pope Philippines lists three Netflix shows that will be renewed for a new season or sequel. Read below!

Netflix Sequel: Never Have I Ever

Never Have I Ever is a 2020 young adult drama-comedy created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher. It circles in on Devi, a teenager who tries to navigate her complicated life after her dad’s death and dealing with the fact that she’s a first-generation Indian-American. The show was watched by both teenagers and adults that it became part of the Top 10 shows on Netflix Philippines for a few days. And just last month, Netflix announced that a second season is coming our way this July! Season 2 will have 10 episodes, 30 minutes each, just like the previous one.

Netflix Sequel: Emily in Paris

The series set in the City of Love, Paris, has gotten the green light to start shooting its second season! On the official Emily in Paris Instagram account, Emily’s boss Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) announced that she has been given a “new work permit that started on May 3.” It was accompanied by a fun video of the cast on set announcing the good news to the world!

In November 2020, Sylvie likewise announced that the series has been renewed for a second season. There is no final date yet for the premiere of the new season, but I’m sure our berets are all ready for it!

Netflix Sequel: Enola Holmes

Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes’s little sister is getting her second movie! On May 14, Millie Bobby Brown who plays Enola posted a photo of her in costume with the caption, “the sequel is afoot #EnolaHolmes2.” The official Netflix Philippines Instagram also posted about it saying, “Super sleuths, the sequel is afoot!”

No word yet as of now when the sequel will be coming to Netflix, but we are so ready!
