Almost a week after she was reported missing in Lake Piru in California, the body of American actress Naya Rivera has been finally found. The 33 years old actress and singer is best known for her role as the fierce cheerleader Santana Lopez in the popular musical TV series, Glee.
Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub said that Naya’s body was found near the surface of the water in the northeastern portion of the lake where the water is between 35 and 60 feet deep. The body was identified based on the location, physical characteristics, clothing, and the absence of any other person reported missing in the area. Naya is believed to have drowned while swimming in Lake Piru with her four-year-old son. The son, whom authorities found sleeping alone in their rental boat, told rescuers that he and his mother went swimming when she suddenly disappeared in the waters. (Read: 4 Healing Prayers for a Broken Heart)
