Mind S-Cool TV will be aired weekly via free TV and Facebook live stream.

As schools all over the country transition to online and distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students, parents, and educators are confronted with a new challenge: acquiring learning materials.

The discussion about these alternative ways of learning has sparked a lot of controversies. This is not only because there hasn’t been a clear direction on how distance learning will be carried out, but also because the effectiveness of educational materials and modules is still in question at the moment. These sudden shifts in the education system and vague plans for the country are among the many reasons why the Bonifacio Art Foundation Inc. (BAFI) decided to come up with Mind S-Cool TV—an educational program that aims to help Filipino students and families cope with the “new normal” of schooling.

Mind S-Cool TV

Mind S-Cool TV is the newest educational project of BAFI that aims to fill the gaps in the basic education courses across different age-groups during the pandemic.

“Education should continue in the crisis. We’d like to think we’re learning for a better normal,” said Maria Isabel Garcia, BAFI managing director and curator.  (Read: An Expert Explains Why You Should Consider Homeschooling Your Kids)

The TV show is reminiscent of classic educational series such as Batibot, Sineskwela, and Sesame Street which allow viewers to engage and participate in a virtual show. It is hosted by Mikee Estorga and Pecier Desierdo.
