As the government continues to gradually ease on lockdown restrictions in the country, several tourist spots have reopened—but still subject to health protocols.
The recent opening of Enchanted Kingdom, a popular theme park in Laguna, was welcomed by local tourists. This is despite the 50% opening capacity and the fact that customers below 21 years old and above 59 years old are not allowed to enter. But aside from Laguna’s Enchanted Kingdom, other tourist sites and establishments around the country have also reopened in recent weeks. (Read: Batangas Dive Spots Reopening: Here’s What You Need To Know) The Department of Tourism (DOT) website lists 81 provinces in the country with accredited establishments and stakeholders who follow the safety protocols and precautionary measures prescribed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Department of Health (DOH).
To give you an overview, the following are the areas currently accepting tourists nationwide, regardless of their community quarantine status:
- Las Casas Filipinos de Acuzar in Bataan;
- Clark Freeport Zone and some destinations in Pampanga;
- Anilao Beach in Batangas;
- Tagaytay Highlands and select golf and country clubs in Cavite; and
- Boracay Island.
Other Tourist Destinations
Meanwhile, some tourist destinations are accepting tourists from specific areas only, such as Ilocos Norte and Baguio City for several areas in Luzon, including Metro Manila. (Read: Your Ultimate Guide Before You Visit Boracay, Baguio, or Rizal Park)
