The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many to lose their jobs and major sources of income. Back in May, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) estimated that 10 million workers will lose their jobs due to COVID-19, but real numbers in July showed that 45% or 27.3 million of adult employees lost their jobs since the pandemic started.
This is what prompted Vice President Leni Robredo to launch Sikap PH, a job listing platform that is dedicated to helping Filipino employees who lost their livelihood amid the pandemic. The platform is part of Robredo’s “bayanihanapbuhay” initiative and a partnership with tech company Elevatech Solutions, Inc. (Read: 3 Online Shops to Support for a Good Cause)
