3 Easy Homemade Ice Cream Recipes

Try making these ice cream recipes at home while mamang sorbetero is not around!

Even though the Philippines’ weather bureau PAGASA has already declared that it is the rainy season, we still experience sweltering heat most afternoons. We still sweat a lot on a daily basis as the weather is just too warm, and cold water has become our bodies’ best friend. But sometimes, we get tired of water’s tastelessness that we opt for something a little tastier to cool our bodies down. (Read: DIY home remedies to keep you and your pets cool this summer)

Of course, one of these tasty coolers is ice cream! Everyone, at least once in their lives, has surely consumed ice cream—whether it’s on a cone, a cup, a tub, or a stick. Children even wait for the ice cream cart after school or during summer break afternoons to buy a serving of dirty ice cream.

But with the quarantine still imposed in the country, mamang sorbetero can rarely be seen on the streets as quarantine guidelines prohibit staying out for too long as it imposes health risks. (Read: Travel Around Philippines With These Fruits in Season!)

But worry not! Even without mamang sorbetero in the meantime, you can still enjoy a scoop of ice cream at home with your own homemade ice cream! These recipes we found do not require any machine or special equipment to make it, so it’s something you can easily make with ingredients at home.
