Back in the day, children would learn good values and moral lessons from story books and fairytales. But as time passed, technology has become a new source of learnings for young children–videos, nursery rhymes, cartoons, and other audiovisual materials now help the youth in learning important values and life lessons.
And now, a new animated character is set to become a new teaching aid for children! Introducing Heneral Tuna, an extraterrestrial cat set to conquer the planet! He is the main character in an animated series by Rocketsheep Studio (Hayop Ka!, Saving Sally), commissioned by the National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA) for their Filipino Values Program. Meet Heneral Tuna
Heneral Tuna is the renowned feline hero of Planet Mingming tasked to observe the Earth before their planned invasion. However, due to spacecraft issues, Heneral Tuna crashes in the Philippines.
Here, a group of humans called pa-mil-ya nurse him back to health. He then uses this time to observe how humans live and interact with each other. And just like other stories, the feline hero has a change of heart after seeing how good people are–and changes his mind in conquering the planet.
