LIST: Five Shows to Stream on Disney+ (Once It Is Available In Southeast Asia!)

From Blackpink to Star Wars, and your favorite Marvel superheroes.

If you’re still getting over news about Disney Channel pulling the plug in Southeast Asia, move on already! Coming soon is Disney+, where you can stream your favorite movies, animation, TV shows, and more from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and the Star Channel. In the Asia-Pacific region, subscribers in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, India, Malaysia, and Thailand are already enjoying Disney+ offerings, while South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan are counting down the days to November 2021 when Disney+ airs in their neck of the woods.  

As for the Philippines, there’s no set date yet, but do check here for the latest news on this jam-packed, video-on-demand, over-the-top streaming service. 

What to watch? Based on the Disney+ APAC Content Showcase, there’s something for everyone: Frozen II, Scandal, The Martian, The Devil Wears Prada, Cruella, Walking Dead, The Greatest Showman.

BLACKPINK: The Movie

Snowdrop

Blackpink’s Jisoo plays a college student who falls for Im Soo-ho (played by Jung Hae-in), a fellow college student hiding a secret. The romantic drama is set during mass protests against an authoritarian South Korean government, circa 1980s. 

WandaVision

Post-Avengers Endgame finds Marvel Studio characters Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) living a quiet life in the fictional town of suburban Westview, New Jersey. The Mandalorian

Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) protects the infant Grogu (or Baby Yoda) from Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito), leader of a fallen Galactic Empire. You don’t have to be a Stars Wars junkie to enjoy this space western series

What If…?

Here are your favorite Marvel Studios superheroes like you’ve never seen them before—in a multiverse of endless possibilities. The animated anthology series features the voices of the actors who played their iconic roles: Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Strange, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and more.
