3 Hidden Gems in the PH, As Seen on Erwan Heussaff’s Vlogs

Erwan's travel vlogs are just beautiful!

On April 6, celebrity chef and content creator Erwan Heussaff announced that he will be rebranding. From The Fat Kid Inside Studios, Erwan’s YouTube channel (formerly named Erwan Heussaff) will now be known as ‘FEATR.,’ which stands for Food Encounters And Travels.

In a video, Erwan explained that the rebrand is long overdue as it was planned in 2019, but the pandemic held them back. Now, as the times are changing and we’re adapting relatively better to the pandemic, Erwan’s team finally pursued the plan. (Read: Here’s a List of PH Tourist Destinations Now Open to Travelers)

FEATR. will now feature new hosts and personalities, culinary shows, travel documentaries, and stories of people from around the world. But as we wait for new content from the channel, why don’t we look back on the domestic travels that Erwan made in the past?

Erwan Heussaff Travels: Samar

For this three-part series on his YouTube channel two years ago, Erwan explored some hidden gems and scenic spots in Samar. In the final part of the series, he went to the Pinipisakan Falls and Sulpan Cave— and even road a bangka to get to the beautiful waterfalls! “A paradise that is still quiet and open for adventures without the usual tourist traps,” Erwan wrote in the caption. Watch the video here. (Click here for part 1 and 2.)

Erwan Heussaff Travels: Davao Oriental

Whenever we think of visiting the south, we would often think of going to Davao City or Siargao Island. But for Erwan, there’s more to the south than these two places.

For a partnership vlog, Erwan and a couple of friends went on a road trip around scenic spots in Davao Oriental, Davao, Mati, Cateel, and their final stop, Hinatuan Bay. The Bay is located in Surigao del Sur (same as Siargao Island) and is home to a handful of species of turtles. It also provides ample shelter from typhoons and storms. Check out the vlog here.

Erwan Heussaff Travels: Sagada

Many of us have surely been to Sagada at least once in our lives. It’s a staple tourist destination for many, and we even bring our family and friends with us to see the beautiful sights and experiences the mountainous land has to offer. But Erwan says that even with its popularity, “Don’t chase what everyone before you has pictured. Come for immersion, connection, come with no expectations, and just enjoy the journey.”

He explored the treks and waterfalls, and tried the great coffee which keeps tourists warm. Get a glimpse of this beautiful place in his vlog.
