Over the past year, Ninong Ry has been making waves on YouTube and Facebook for his quirky cooking and fun mukbang videos. The Pinoy chef cooks popular Filipino dishes, and tries and reviews new restaurants and food establishments for his channel.
And recently, Ninong Ry announced a collaboration project with celebrity chef Erwan Heussaff! Erwan, who owns the YouTube channel FEATR, was the one who reached out to the new content creator.
“Hey man, love all the videos you that you’ve been putting up… I think it would be cool if we did a show/series together,” Erwan’s message back in March said. (Read: 3 Hidden Gems in the PH, As Seen on Erwan Heussaff’s Vlogs)
Now, the first video for their collaboration project is here!
‘Fiesta in a Box’
Ninong Ry and Erwan’s collaboration project with YouTube is called “Fiesta in a Box.” The concept of the show is that two personalities will go head to head in making a popular Filipino fiesta dish using ingredients in a box.
“Everything they need and more, will be in a box,” FEATR said, “While we still can’t go out to celebrate, let’s keep Filipino Fiestas alive in our kitchens.”
For the first episode, young celebrity couple Khalil Ramos and Gabbi Garcia go head to head in making Moriones Festival’s chicken adobo in coconut milk (gata).
The recipes are also listed in the video description for anyone who wants to cook it at home just like how Gabbi and Khalil did.
Aside from the cooking content, Fiesta in a Box also shares facts about the fiestas and dishes they feature to educate their subscribers.
