Dwayne Johnson Shares Learnings After Contracting COVID-19

The actor and former wrestling superstar revealed that he, his wife, and their two toddlers have all tested positive for COVID-19.

In an 11-minute video posted on Instagram, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson revealed that he, his wife Lauren, and their two toddlers have all tested positive for the contagious COVID-19.

“I wish it was only me who tested positive but it wasn’t, it was my entire family.  This one was a real kick in the gut but I am happy to tell you guys that we as a family are good. We are on the other end of it, we’re on the other side, we are no longer contagious and we thank God we are healthy and we’ve gotten through COVID- 19 stronger and healthier,” Dwayne says in the video.

The actor also shared his learnings from the experience, in hopes of helping other families in these times of crisis. (Read: 3 Ways to Take Care of Your Mental Health While in Quarantine)

“We have been disciplined. We’re quarantined, we’ve isolated. I have not worked. But, like a lot of you guys out there (we were) having friends over.. loved ones—of course, you want that because you want that connection” he said.

Dwayne emphasized that having people over to one’s house during these times can have its consequences, and that strict measures must be observed at all times—even when you’re are the comfort of your home.

“My takeaway here isn’t necessarily ‘Keep them away…’ What I am saying is apply an even greater discipline to having people over to your house.”

We must all prioritize our wellness and health.

“The commitment to wellness and the commitment to health and doing everything that we could possibly do to boost our immune system (are what really matters)… Our immunity and our system is [sic] made up of organisms that.. fight toxins, fight infections, fight viruses, fight disease.”
