3 Disney Recipes You Can Recreate for Halloween

Have a Disney-inspired party with the family!

Halloween is just a few weeks away, which means children, and even adults, are once again ready to dress up and emulate their favorite movie and TV show characters. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the health protocols in place nationwide, a jam-packed Halloween party or trick or treat event may not be possible this year.

Nonetheless, this shouldn’t stop you and your little ones from dressing up at home and eating to your heart’s content on Halloween! So, in celebration of the season—amid the pandemic, that is—we’ve rounded up some Disney recipes you can recreate at home while having the whole family dress up as a character from the movie! Confit Byaldi Recipe from Ratatouille

Undeniably, the Confit Byaldi is one of the most popular dishes from a Disney movie. When Ratatouille came out in 2007, everyone immediately wanted to try the dish that made Ego remember his mother’s cooking. And now, you can actually try it at home—and even dress up as Ego or Linguini while doing so!

Ingredients for Piperade:

  • 1/2 red pepper, seeds and ribs removed
  • 1/2 yellow pepper, seeds and ribs removed
  • 1/2 orange pepper, seeds and ribs removed
  • 2 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup finely diced onion
  • 3 tomatoes, peeled, seeded, and finely diced, juices reserved
  • 1 sprig thyme
  • 1 sprig flat-leaf parsley
  • 1/2 a bay leaf
  • Salt

Ingredients for vegetables:

  • 1 zucchini, sliced in 1/16-inch rounds
  • 1 Japanese eggplant, sliced into 1/16-inch rounds
  • 1 yellow squash, sliced into 1/16-inch rounds
  • 4 tomatoes, sliced into 1/16-inch rounds
  • 1/2 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 tsps olive oil
  • 1/8 tsp thyme leaves
  • Salt
  • Ground black pepper

Ingredients for vinaigrette:

  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
  • Assorted herbs (thyme flowers, chervil, thyme)
  • Salt
  • Ground black pepper

These delicious and magical cookies from Alice in Wonderland made Alice grow in the movie—but unfortunately, that can’t happen in real life. But that doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy the cookies! Here’s an easy recipe to help you replicate this Disney snack—and why not wear an Alice costume, or maybe the Red Queen, while cooking?

Ingredients for sugar cookies:

  • 3 cups plain flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup room temperature butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Ingredients for checkerboard cookies: 

  • 2 heaped tsp cocoa powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp of water

Ingredients for icing and frosting:

  • 2 large egg whites, room temperature
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 3 cups sifted icing sugar
  • gel food coloring
  • milk

That’s why many have tried to replicate this cheese soufflé at home to try and emulate Belle. And now, you can, too, with this recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter plus more to butter a 6-cup gratin dish
  • 6 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups cold whole milk
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • 5 extra-large eggs beaten
  • 2 1/3 cups grated cheese
  • 3 tbsp minced fresh chive blades
