UP Researchers Develop COVID-19 Symptoms Tracker

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-2019) is spreading unprecedentedly each day. But how will you know if you have it? That question has become surprisingly tricky to answer—and it’s been causing hysteria and anxiety for some of us.

Fever and dry cough are among the most common symptoms of COVID-19, but how can we distinguish it from a common flue?

The University of the Philippines Resilience Institute, in partnership with the UP Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards (NOAH), recently launched endcov.ph—a website that shows COVID-19 information for everyone’s comfort. The website also has live data gathered on its dashboard that shows the number of confirmed PUIs, PUMs, recovered persons, and deceased.

Aside from that, the site has an ISKOnsult tab that helps users check for possible COVID-19 symptoms, as visiting hospitals for check up can be hard and risky for certain people. It also gathers a person’s gender, age, travel history, symptoms, contact details, and is based on DOH’s triage algorithm for COVID-19.

Proving the real essence of being an “Iskolar ng Bayan,” the team behind this amazing effort is composed of faculty members, researchers, students, and volunteer alumni from UP Diliman, UP Los Baños, and UP Manila.
