During her guesting on Eat Bulaga‘s Bawal Judgmental, veteran actress Alice Dixson finally announced her new baby’s gender and name. “Babae po ang anak ko, her name is Aura,” the 51-year-old said, referring to her ‘little miracle‘ whom she had through a surrogate mother.
The actress had Aura in the United States, and they just came back to the Philippines on May 1. “It was a feeling of halo-halong emotions of being a sigh of relief, nerbyos na am I gonna be a good mom, happiness, merong ding kaunting fears kasi siyempre there’s a lot of negative things going on in the world right now,” Alice shared with GMA News. Understandably, what Alice feels is a normal thing for new moms, especially for those who had their babies at a relatively older age or after trials and obstacles. Here are three other celebrity moms who share the same heartwarming experience of having a miracle baby:
Rica Peralejo: Had Her Second Baby After Two Miscarriages
Former child star and actress Rica Peralejo suffered two miscarriages in 2016 and 2017, when she and her husband, Joseph Bonifacio, were trying for their second child. So in 2018, she rested her body to prepare for another baby. And in 2019, all her efforts from the past year bore fruit as she got pregnant with her second child, whom she named Manu.
“Five whole years of just the three of us. I know I would have been very happy if someone followed my firstborn right away, but at the same time I feel like too short a time wouldn’t have been enough for me to fully enjoy my first little person — so deep, so rich, so profound,” Rica said in an Instagram post.
Miriam Quiambao: Blessed With a Miracle Baby at Age 43
Miriam Quiambao, Miss Universe 1999 First-Runner Up, actress, and licensed physical therapist, had baby woes of her own. In 2014, she married her fiancé Ardy Roberto, a Christian author and motivational speaker. At the time, the beauty queen was already 39 years old, which means she had a slimmer chance at having a baby. (Read: ‘I Had a Miracle Baby – and a Second Chance at Life!’)
They even considered IVF and adoption just to have a baby of their own— but indeed, miracles do happen. In 2018, Miriam took to Instagram to share the good news: she was nine weeks pregnant with their baby!
“By His grace, He rewarded our faith with the greatest gift: a baby conceived naturally,” she wrote. Miriam is now a mom to three-year-old Elijah, and is pregnant with their second child at age 45!
Assunta de Rossi: Conceived Her First Child Amid Health Conditions
Former Metro Manila Film Festival Best Actress Assunta de Rossi has been married to her husband Jules Ledesma for over 16 years. And in the one and a half decades they’ve been together, they have tried to have a baby of their own.
But Assunta struggled with myoma and endometriosis which made it harder to conceive— but as we all say, miracles happen. (Read: How Candy, Assunta, and Risa survived the hardships of motherhood)
Assunta gave birth to their first child at 37 years old— even while suffering from the two conditions— and named her Giulia Fiorentina Alessandra!
