Celebs Show Support to Health Workers Amid Rising COVID-19 Cases

"You deserve so much more than this. We are so sorry."

Just recently, the Department of Health (DOH) has reported one of the highest tally of confirmed coronavirus cases in a day with 5,032 new cases—lifting the total confirmed cases to 103,185, and more than 2,000 deaths.

The DOH has also reported that a total of 2,000 nurses and physicians have tested positive for the virus, and that 938 of them have already recovered from the disease. (Read: Kuh Ledesma Auctions off Artworks to Help 30 Families Amid COVID-19)

With what seems to be “a losing battle” against the virus, the medical community has proposed a “timeout” to allow exhausted doctors and health workers to re-strategize their response to the pandemic. It comes as for five whole months, our beloved health workers haven’t stopped working to fight the spread of the virus.

In response to the decry of the medical frontliners, many Filipinos have been sending their support and admiration to the modern-day heroes. Several personalities have also shown their appreciation to frontliners through various platforms. (Read: LOOK: Ronnie Liang, Carol Banawa, and Agot Isidro are now serving as frontliners)

Dancel even promised to perform for them after the pandemic. “Pagkatapos ng pandemyang ito, kapag pumunta ka sa show ko, magpakilala ka lang at yayakapin kita at tutugtugin ko ang mga paborito mong kanta ko. Mag ingat ka sana palagi at wag mong papabayaan ang iyong sarili,” the singer said.
