ICYMI: Here are some events that were canceled or postponed due to COVID-19

With the World Health Organization raising the global risk for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) to the highest level, a number of events that were scheduled for March and April have been either canceled or postponed to a later date by its respective organizers.

My Pope lists some events that have been rescheduled or canceled, for your reference.

Canceled Events

Lubao International Balloon and Music Festival

You may check the announcement here.

Town Fiestas in Calasiao and Bayambang, Pangasinan

In place of the grand celebration, the LGUs will hold a nine-day novena, procession, and fireworks display to celebrate. A medical mission and Mass will also be held.

Jimmy Eat World Asian Tour

You may check the announcement here. Refunds will be available at the point of purchase, according to its promoter, PULP Live World.

Slipknot Asian Tour

The band itself decided to cancel their shows in Asia, including Manila. You may check the promoter’s Facebook page for updates on refunds.

La Trinidad, Benguet’s Strawberry Festival

The municipal government of La Trinidad canceled its annual celebration pursuant to the Department of Health’s COVID-19 advisory.

Postponed/Rescheduled Events

Avril Lavigne “Head Above Water” Tour

Department of Tourism’s month-long sale

The Department of Tourism has postponed the month-long nationwide sale indefinitely to “prioritize the safety of citizens more than visitor arrivals and revenue.”

Khalid “Free Spirit” Tour

The promoter is still working on rescheduling the show. Ticket holders may also request a refund through SM Tickets outlets.

PBA 45th Season Opening

Basketball fans would have to wait a week longer for the PBA Opening, as it has been moved from March 1 to March 8.

Wanderland Music and Arts Festival

The Wanderland team has announced a postponement of the festival from March 7 and 8 to a later date. You may check their Facebook page and website for updates.

Running Man performance

The Korean reality show’s team has decided to reschedule the event, slated for February 9, to June 21, 2020, at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Green Day Asian Tour

The band has postponed their upcoming shows in Asia and is now working on rescheduling the shows to a later date.
