Admittedly, looking for gift ideas for Christmas this year has become a tad bit harder.
The COVID-19 pandemic, the quarantine, and the health risks of going out led to most of us resorting to having food and items delivered to our homes. Luckily, there are thousands of stores and millions of items available online for our shopping needs, especially for the holidays.
But the thing is, we almost always want our gifts to be memorable— one-of-a-kind, even— so that our gift receivers will feel special. But with everyone using the same shopping platforms, our gifts might not exactly be as unique as we want it to be this year. Luckily, there are now many brands— both local and international— that are creating and launching limited edition items for their patrons!
Unique Collaboration by Auro Chocolate
One of the brands that recently launched a limited-edition product is award-winning local chocolate, Auro. Last week, the chocolate brand which sources its cacao from Davao announced their collaboration with Aklan-born designer Lesley Mobo who is famous for his colorful ternos, and Victor Magsaysay, a French-trained chef. The collab is visible through the packaging of the chocolate bars, which are women clad in ternos with Mobo’s signature patterns and designs. Moreover, the chocolate bars themselves are inspired by the three main islands of the Philippines: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The three are also called “Si Aida,” “Si Lorna,” and “Si Fe,” an ode to the popular song of the same name by Marco Sison.
Si Aida, Si Lorna, Si Fe
According to the Auro website, Si Aida Ng Luzon is 64% dark chocolate with Ylang-ylang essence roasted white chocolate. On the other hand, Si Lorna Ng Visayas is 32% white chocolate pandan with peanuts and dried green mango, while Si Fe Ng Mindanao is made of 50% dark milk chocolate vetiver with freeze-dried pineapple and rice crispies.
