ICYMI: Adele Is Coming Out With A New Album on November 19

This will be Adele’s first album in six years.

Just a week after Taylor Swift released her much awaited ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’ album, music fans are once again in for a treat. That’s because British singer-songwriter Adele is coming out with her newest album on November 19!

Called ’30’, this is the 33-year-old superstar’s fourth studio album, and her first album in six years. The 15-time Grammy Award winner also recently released the first single off of the new album, “Easy on Me”, and we can’t wait for the others! (Read: 5 Motivational Songs to Start Your Year Right)

But what inspired Adele to write the songs for 30? Here’s what we know.

Inspired by her experiences

In 2019, Adele filed for a divorce from her husband, charity entrepreneur Simon Konecki in the United States. And two years later, in January 2021, the divorce was finalized.

According to reports, and Adele herself, this experience of getting a divorce was what inspired her to make the album. During a Q&A session on Instagram back in October, a fan asked her what the inspiration was behind the album; the singer simply answered, “Divorce, babe, divorce.” (Read: LIST: Winners of 2021 Billboard Music Awards)

In an interview with Vogue, Adele added that the album is also about “motherhood and the scrutiny of fame.”

Apart from ‘Easy on Me’, another single is set to come out for the album. While no release date has been provided yet, it was announced that the title of the second single from 30 is ‘I Drink Wine’.

All in all there will be 12 songs on the standard edition, and 15 songs on the deluxe edition. Titles include ‘Woman like Me’, ‘Love is a Game’, ‘To Be Loved’, and ‘Cry Your Heart Out’. American singer-songwriter Chris Stapleton will also be featuring in the deluxe edition version of ‘Easy on Me’. He recently collaborated with Taylor Swift for Red (Taylor’s Version), where they sang together in the song ‘I Bet You Think About Me’, which is a track from the vault.
