WATCH: AC Bonifacio Joins Cast of Netflix’s Riverdale

The Pinay dancer goes on a showdown with Madelaine Petsch, a.k.a. Cheryl Blossom!

Filipina-Canadian dancer and actress AC Bonifacio is officially set to join the 5th season of the vastly popular American hit television series, Riverdale

On Saturday, January 2, 18-year-old AC reposted a clip of her milestone via Instagram. In the clip, she and Madelaine Petsch, who plays Cheryl Blossom in the series, can be seen dancing head-to-head in a cheerdance showdown in the school gym. The video was first posted by Riverdale creator, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. (Read: 5 Motivational Songs to Start Your Year Right)

“Here’s my page 1/365 submission 🙂 startin off the year right w a lil sneak peek to #Riverdale Season 5!” wrote AC on her Instagram caption. Among those who congratulated her in the comments section were fellow Filipino artists Moira Dela Torre, Alexander Diaz, Kyle Echarri, Darren Espanto, and Zephanie.

AC first rose to fame as part of the dance duo “Lucky Aces” with Lucky Ancheta, which won first prize in the TV show Dance Kids Philippines in 2016. She also won 3rd runner-up in the first season of Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids in 2017. (Read: LIST: Movies Set for International Release in 2021)

Since then, AC has become very active in the entertainment industry, constantly wowing the Filipino audience with her dance moves. Now, she is yet to prove her acting chops as part of Netflix’s Riverdale

The 5th season of the American teen drama TV series that is based on the characters of Archie Comics stars KJ Apa as Archie Andrews, Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Cole Sprouse as Jughead, and Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge.

Details of AC’s character are yet to be announced, as Aguirre-Sacasa confirms on his Instagram that the new season will premiere on January 21, 2021.
