One habit that we’ve built over the course of the quarantine is watching movies on various online platforms. Luckily, local film producers are now catching up on this trend, just like ABS-CBN’s Star Cinema which is now uploading full versions of its movies on YouTube! Jologs is a classic Filipino teen, comedy-drama film directed by Gilbert Perez. It was released in 2002 and featured a star-studded cast as well as cameos from the biggest local celebrities. The film follows a group of normal teens and 20-something Filipinos who are all tied to one coffee shop and are struggling to make ends meet in the Philippines. Way Back Home is a Filipino family drama film directed by Jerry Lopez Sineneng under Star Cinema in 2011. It was one of the first movies of Kapamilya royalties Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes after their big break at ABS-CBN’s remake of the classic teleserye, Mara Clara. The film follows the story of two sisters, Ana Bartolome (Kathryn) and Jessica Santiago (Julia), who have been separated for 12 years and grew up in two totally different worlds. The story unravels when the two sisters meet for the first time and try to reconnect with each other.
