7 New Movies Coming to Netflix This May

The streaming giant offers drama, sci-fi, suspense— and even a zombie invasion!

Steve Harmon goes from likeable honor student to murder suspect in this 2018 American legal drama. Did he really do it? Kelvin Harrison plays the teen in trouble and American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson co-stars as his mom.

Monster is coming to Netflix on May 7.

Oxygen (Oxygène)

From French horror filmmaker Alexandre Aja comes this 2021 sci-fi drama about a woman who wakes up to find herself inside a cryogenic chamber. Can she get herself out before she runs out of air? Melanie Laurent stars. (Read: 4 Netflix Characters Who Inspire Us to Heed God’s Message)

Oxygen premiers on Netflix on May 12.

The Woman in the Window

In the tradition of classic voyeur films like Rear Window and Disturbia comes this 2021 suspense thriller about an agoraphobic child psychiatrist (Amy Adams) who chances upon her neighbor (Julianne Moore) being stabbed. But not only does Jane’s husband (Gary Oldman) claim nothing happened, he says Jane (Jennifer Jason Leigh) is very much alive! 

The Woman in the Window is set for release on Netflix on May 14.

Army of the Dead

Fil-Am wrestler-turned-actor Dave Baustista leads a team of mercenaries out to rob Las Vegas during a zombie outbreak. Zack Synder directs this 2021 zombie heist action film.

Army of the Dead is coming to Netflix on May 21.

Baggio: The Divine Ponytail (Il Divin Codino)

Italian football legend Roberto Baggio made headlines for his quirky coiffure and his controversial plays. Andrea Arcangeli plays the footballer in this biographical sports film.  

Baggio: The Divine Ponytail premieres on Netflix on May 26.

Ghost Lab

Do you believe in ghosts? Two doctors turn to science to prove that ghosts do exist. Paris Intarakomalyasut, Nuttanicha Dungwattanawanich, and Thanapob Leeratanakachorn star in this Thai supernatural thriller. (Read: Song Kang Plays as Male Ballet Dancer in New Netflix Series)

Ghost Lab will air on Netflix on May 26.

Blue Miracle

What do the residents of a Mexican orphanage do when it runs out of funds to survive after the wrath of a killer hurricane? Enter the world’s biggest fishing contest in hopes of winning, of course. Dennis Quaid stars in this inspiring, feel-good drama based on a true story.

Blue Miracle premieres on Netflix on May 27.
