3 Times Mariah Carey Broke Records on Christmas

The Songbird Supreme actually earned three Guinness World Records!

The cold breeze is in and the bedazzled Christmas trees are already out, but the holiday season isn’t in full swing unless Mariah Carey’s iconic holiday classic, “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” is played on speakers everywhere.

The iconic hit song has become synonymous with Christmas and has been warming hearts since it was first released on October 28, 1994. With the popularity of  “All I Want for Christmas Is You” over the years, we can all agree that Mariah has gained her right to be called the queen of the season. And while the singer herself humbly denies the title, there’s no doubt that she has earned it through the years.

Here are three reasons why we think Mariah Carey is the true queen of the holiday season!

This was confirmed by the song’s producer and co-writer, Walter Afanasief, himself! As a matter of fact, when Mariah recorded the song in the summer of 1994, she pulled out all her energy to fill the entire studio with holiday decorations and Christmas trees. Just Queen thingz! That’s right. The song broke records for being one of the best-selling and most recognizable Christmas songs, most streamed song on Spotify in 24 hours, and most weeks in the UK singles Top 10 chart for a Christmas song titles! Well, if that not enough to call her the Queen of Christmas, we don’t know what is.

#3: Mariah Carey Will Be Featured on Apple TV+

Nothing can stop the supreme songstress in making everyone special this holiday season— not even the coronavirus pandemic. In fact, on December 4, the singer will host a Christmas special on Apple TV+ entitled, “Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special,” in which she will feature a special version of her 2010 single “Oh Santa!” with Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson!
